أتساءل أحيانا: كيف يجوز لبعض نقادنا العرب أن يخلطوا التحليل النفسي بالنقد الأدبي، حينما يتعرضون لكثير من الأعمال المعروضة عليهم؟ وهل يجوز تسخير علم النفس لأي عملية نقدية أدبية هادفة؟ وقبل الإجابة عن هذين السؤالين حريّ بي أن أقول بادئ ذي بدء إن محاولة ربط التحاليل النفسية بالنقد الأدبي هي طريقة أو "نزعة" غربية تورط فيها نقادنا العرب وظنوا أنهم بهذا التقليد أو بهذه المحاكاة قد جاؤوا بطريقة جديدة "مُثلى"، وإن كانوا يفتقرون لأي دراية أم خلفية بعلم النفس تؤهّلهم عن جدارة لمزاولة التحاليل النفسية، فضلًا عن محاولة ربطها "عشوائيًا" بأي عمل نقدي أو مهمة نقدية، وأظن أن تقليدنا لهذه الطريقة جاء بشكل ارتجالي محض، فقد نسي أو تناسى هؤلاء المقلدون أن نقاد الغرب الذين زاولوا أو مارسوا عملية الخلط هذه كانوا يتمتعون بخلفية جيدة ودراية متكاملة بعلم النفس تمكّنا بهما عن جدارة من تسخير هذا العلم تسخيرًا موفقًا لدراساتهم النقدية.
بمعنى أن أحدهم عندما يتحول إلى "محلل نفسي" فإنه ساعتئذ يتخلى عن دوره كناقد إلى أن يفرغ من تحليله، وهي طريقة لا تنسجم إطلاقا مع ما يمارسه نقادنا العرب، حيث "يخلطون الحابل بالنابل" فلا يدري القارئ حينما يقرأ لواحد من هؤلاء، أتراه ينقد أم يحلل، حيث تختلط مقاييس ومعايير النقد الأدبي بالتحليل النفسي اختلاطًا عجيبًا يشوه العمل النقدي برمته تشويهًا ظاهرًا، وإزاء ذلك أقول عودة إلى السؤالين المطروحين بأن التحاليل النفسية لا علاقة لها بالمهمة النقدية، فعلم النفس يبحث في السلوك البشري المربوط بتجارب وقوانين علمية محددة قد لا تنسجم بشكل مباشر مع مبادئ النقد الأدبي التي تهتم عادة بجوانب النص الإنسانية، حتى وإن استعانت ببعض تجارب علم النفس وقوانينه.
